This change is the result of two different plating methods which both are qualified. Method #1: Utilizes a belt system that better shields the rest of the contact from the selective tin plate process, but some discoloration at the transition areas still may occur but leaves the contact a little shinier. Method #2: Uses a depth cell method, where parts move freely through a plating bath at a certain depth and the rest of the part is not shielded so there will be a swirling effect in the transition area between select plating areas which leaves a burnt discolored look. | Download |
