| 11/01/2021 | MMM1016 - Qualified an alternative Material. Due to upstream issues with some of the raw materials associated with the existing cover tape used in the manufacture of certain versions of 3M™ Wiremount Plug, 4600 Series, 3M™ Wiremount Socket, 3000 Series connectors, 3M™ D Sub Plug Connector, 8200 Series, and 3M™ D Sub Socket Connector 3M has qualified an alternate cover tape material, also manufactured by 3M. The connectors themselves are not impacted by this change. 3M has conducted its own testing and expects no impact on form, fit, or function. The alternate cover tape material is expected to perform identically in customer applications, but will have a slightly different cosmetic appearance. Moving forward, given the uncertainty in the global supply chain, 3M will use either cover tape interchangeably, as needed, to cover customer orders. In order to prevent supply disruption at customers, this change will take effect with orders manufactured in November 2021.
