06/17/2025 | PCN-22047 - Appearance Change. The parts may exhibit cosmetic discoloration at the transition points between selective plated areas. This change is the result of two different plating methods which both are qualified. Method #1: Utilizes a belt system that better shields the rest of the contact from the selective tin plate process, but some discoloration at the transition areas still may occur but leaves the contact a little shinier. Method #2: Uses a depth cell method, where parts move freely through a plating bath at a certain depth and the rest of the part is not shielded so there will be a swirling effect in the transition area between select plating areas which leaves a burnt discolored look. | Download |
